Ellie from Room 12 did this very interesting experiment on the effect on hand washing on the food we eat.
We decided to have a go too.
We got 3 pieces of bread.
On the first we got Nathan to rub his dirty hands all over it ( he even wen outside to dirty them up as much as possible).
On the next piece we sent Triya and Kaitlyn to both go and dirty up their hands and rub them all over the bread.
For the last piece of bread all three of them went and watched their hands very carefully before they ALL touched the bread.
We then made our hypothesis (or predictions about what would happen).
We thought the bread that had been touched by two people would have the most germs, then the bread that had only been touched by one person would have the next most germs... and the last piece would not have many germs.
Look at our photos and see what happened!
We are a Year 1 and 2 class at Allenton School, Ashburton, New Zealand. We use this blog as the 5th wall of our classroom. Please visit us often and comment on our learning as this is an important part of our learning community.

Showing our learning after our visit.
We had to show we had learned:
Steering wheel, steering rack, tie rod end and wheels.
We all did it!
